This version of the famous starship is "A" first seen in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.
The model is enhanced with Paragrafix photo-etch details and lighted with a lighting kit built by Trekmodeler.
This is where it all starts - working on the shuttle bay. This build is including a TenaControls shuttle bay sequential running light kit. I've wired the lighting and temporarily connected to a 9V battery for testing.
Observation Lounge - panting and landscaping done.
Arboretum is assembled and ready (except for the ceiling).
Shuttles ready to go in. I'l actually just be placing one pod and one Star Trek V type shuttle in the hangar bay.
Secondary hull starting to come together. Testing lights.
Base is almost ready. Four switches: main power on/off; warp vs. impulse mode; shuttle bay running lights on/off; momentary switch to activate photon torpedo lights and sounds.
Secondary hull attached to the base. Testing lights. There's still some touch-up to do - sealing some gaps, blocking some light leaks, etc.
Aztec and strongback decals have been applied. Ready to move on to the primary hull!
Lighting the saucer!
Saucer ready for Aztec decaling.
Saucer attached to secondary hull.
Some marking decals applied.
Completed and ready to launch!
