WIP: 1:350 Scale NCC-1701 Refit (Oscar)

This version of the famous starship is the refit first seen in Star Trek: The Motion Picture.

The model is lighted with a lighting kit built by Tena Controls.

I am also using photo etch details made by Paragrafix.

This is where I usually start...with the shuttle/hangar bay. I first attach the photo-etch details and then paint the walls and floor.

Sequential landing bay lights installed under the floor.

Using a different lighting kit with this build - and it's a bit of a challenge.

Wiring up the shuttle bay sequential lights.

More work on the arboretum.

And...painted recreation deck (after market add-on made by Spaceways Parts).

01/15/2023 update:

Using the same photo here for all 4 builds I'm working on. These pieces are the hardest ones to paint in the whole kit. They are clear parts and it takes a lot of fine detailing and just the right light to see where the lines, indentions, etc., are. I painted 8 of these - 2 for each model.

Shuttles installed in shuttle bay.

Wiring/lighting progress. Assembly of the secondary hull. This lighting kit (TenaControls) is quite the challenge.

Finally some updates!

Working on the saucer section... Cutting has been done for lighting. Saucer walls have been assembled, gaps closed with putty, and sanded. Two coats of paint - one black and one white - have been added to block light. Impulse engine piece has been light-blocked as well.

I've primed the saucer halves. On to laying down a base coat of white...
