This version of the famous starship is the refit from Star Trek II.
The model is lighted with a lighting kit built by Trekmodeler.
I am also using photo etch details made by Paragrafix.

This is where it all starts - working on the shuttle bay. Floor and ceiling are painted. I've started added most of the photo etch details to one wall.
Shuttle bay painted and decals applied.
Observation lounge painted and landscaped.
Arboretum assembled and ready. I'll be putting tiny crew members in here as well as in the shuttle bay and officers lounge.
Shuttles ready to go in. I won't be placing all in the hangar (they won't all fit).
Starting to assemble the secondary hull. First lights are going in.
Assemblying the secondary hull. Arboretum and shuttle bay are installed.
The body of the primary hull has been assembled. Next step is adding the neck section, then painting the hull.
Primary hull assembled and painted. Arboretum windows need finishing but otherwise it's ready for Aztec decals.
Base assembled and painted. No decals yet.
Saucer top minus the bridge...base paint job done...
Saucer halves rigged for lighting...
Aztec decals applied to the primary hull.
On the stand and lighting turned on...
Aztecs on the top of the saucer.
Attaching the saucer
Saucer attached...
Deflector housing interior...lighting hooked up
The body minus warp nacelles. Deflector dish and bridge will be installed soon. Nacelles are being built.
Lighting the warp nacelles and closing them up.
Adding Aztec decals to the warp nacelles...
Unfortunately, I ran into a problem with the Aztec decals on the top of the saucer. I've never seen the problem before but suspect it was a quality issue with the decals. The short version is that I had to scrape and sand away the decals, sand the surface smooth, and repaint the flat white finish and pearl white coat over that. Now, I'm applying a new set of Aztecs...
I redid the Aztecs and have now applied the marking decals.
Missing only one thing now: the bridge.
