1:350 Scale U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 (Polar Lights) - *Lighted*

HUGE! This hyper detailed model of the orginal Starship Enterprise is 32 inches long.

Check out two galleries of images of NCC-1701 builds:

This very cool model features two detailed interior sections:

Bridge

Hangar with Shuttlecraft

I also use photo etch details produced by Paragrafix to enhance the accuracy of the model. Included with these photo etch pieces are 1:350 scale crew members, which I will include in the interior detail sections (unless you request that I exclude them).

The Polar Lights lighting kit built for this model will be installed. Lighting effects include:

  • Bussard "spinning" effect
  • Navigation beacons
  • Strobes
  • Internal lighting

Here is a video tour of one of my first builds of this model:

Additional Options - Motors and Lighting Customizations

While the lighting kit for this model made by Polar Lights is well-designed, some people are not fond of the noise generated by the motors enabling the spinning Bussard collectors. I do not use the motors that come with the Polar Lights light kit as they are very loud; I replace them with higher quality, quieter motors, and I also do what I can to minimize the noise by insulating the chamber around the motor, but there's still noticable sound. A few people who did not want any sound coming from the model have opted for a "simulated" solution, where instead of having the Bussard element actually spin, chaser LEDs are installed that create the illusion of spinning.

If you are interested in this option, just let me know.

Another option that some customers have requested is lighting the warp nacelle grids. They of course were not lighted in the Original Series, but clear pieces are included in the model kit in case you want to light them.

Build Time

This is the second-most complex model build l offer. I group builds of the ship into "waves" in which I construct several (as many as four) simultaneously. When a new build is commissioned, it's put into the queue in the order it was commissioned. At the time you contact me to commission the build, I will discuss with you the estimated timeframe.

Shipping

imageThis is a very large and heavy model, which accounts for the shipping/handling cost. It will be packaged professionally, very carefully to prevent damage.  Because this model is not only very large but fragile, I have found the safest way to ship it is via freight. (Here's more information about why I do not ship via other methods.) I can get you an estimate of the cost to ship to your location.

Payment Plans

I have several payment options, including installments (requiring a down payment covering the cost of the model, supplies, etc.). Please contact me directly to inquire about purchasing this build with a payment plan.

You May Also Pay in Full

You may also pay in full upfront if you wish (not including the shipping cost, as it can change between the time of commissioning and completion of the build, and must be calculated based on your location).

Price: $2200.00 + shipping TBD
