August 26, 2026 IMPORTANT UPDATE:
STILL on the hunt for a job. I haven't been able to find much time to work on the models, but I decided I just need to set aside weekends for the builds -- no job searching on weekends from here on unless I need to prep for an interview or something.
I'm putting Jerrad's on temporary hold and will be starting on Jason's and Herb's ships this weekend. That will be pulling the kits out of the boxes and beginning the process of lighting prep. I'll try to get some photos up soon.
I updated the ETA dates below.
I really hope I get a job soon.
July 12, 2026 IMPORTANT UPDATE:
I'm still job hunting (which isn't going that well, but that seems to be the norm for everyone in my position right now), and I realized I'm going to have to start finding part-time work or freelance work as I can find it. But I've also decided, even though I've got a lot on my plate, to try re-opening my "storefront" for commissions of less complex, smaller models. However, the builds currently in the queue are of utmost priority, so any potential new commissions will not be started until I'm very close to wrapping up everything that was commissioned prior to this date.
I'm still working on the complex painting of Oscar's 1/350 Refit and am building Jerrad's 1/350 Refit, which is going to be painted the same way, but I'm going to go ahead and pull out Jason's and Herb's kits this week to start preliminary work on them, and I'll be working Kristofer's Saratoga in as well. I'm going to have a lot going on at once, but at least I'll be making progress on multiple models.
June 27, 2026 IMPORTANT UPDATE:
It seems I keep running into setbacks. I was laid off from my fulltime job on June 1, so I've been focused on job hunting over the last month.
I'm continuing to work on the models as much as I can, but this situation has slowed me down. As I write this, I am weighing whether I can take a break from the job search next week and put most of my attention into the two builds I'm working on -- Oscar's and Jerrad's.
As soon as I complete Oscar's (which is mostly a matter of painting, but very complex painting) and Jerrad's, I'll finish up Kristofer's Miranda class (1:537 scale) ship but also start on the next group (Herb, Jason, and Daniel).
I have updated estimated start/completion dates below. Once again, I appreciate everyone's patience - I know you've been waiting a long time, and I feel bad about that. I'll reiterate that I will be working as hard as I can to complete all the builds in my queue as quickly as possible without sacrificing quality.
